How Silvers is Reimagining Connection with Denmark’s Elders

Silvers is bridging the gap between youth and elders, giving them spaces to cook meals, sit around a garden table, and take late night swims in the ocean.

Based in Denmark, Silvers isn’t a care company or a charity. It’s a social enterprise that hosts meaningful events with elderly people — dinner parties, storytelling nights, intergenerational conversations — all designed to bring generations together for some good old-fashioned human connection.

The founders started Silvers with the goal "to connect the magic of senior generations with the world through unique real life experiences, stories and products created by silvers and curated by youth." They saw how online interactions had removed the space for real, meaningful, intergenerational connection. Generations are isolated, and increasingly so.

So, they built a solution. Silvers events are designed with care, whether it’s a cozy supper club in a shared kitchen, a walk-and-talk along the harbour, or a full moon swim at Amager Beach. They are all centred around creating a space to bring people together, who wouldn't usually cross paths in daily life.

In a fast-moving, technological world, Silvers invites us to slow down and listen. To pull up a chair. To see aging not as decline, but as a spring of wisdom and warmth.
